Settings dialog

The settings dialog is intended for the flexible adjustment of the program up to the user preferences. The dialog lets the user adjust the application elements responsible for interaction with the operating system installed, program interface, formula editor, and mathematical functions. The dialog is displayed in the next figure.

System tab

Start the application when Windows starts - the program starts each time your operating system starts and remains in the system tray.

Tray icon - displays a direct link to the program in the system tray near the clock.

Minimize to the tray - when you press the minimize button , the program will be minimized to the system tray only and is not displayed in the task panel.

Open the last document - when you start the program, it will automatically open the document that was opened during the last usage of the program.

Previously opened files list count - count of files available in the last files list window on the main toolbar.

Documents folder - the main folder containing the program documents. Of course, it is also possible to keep documents in other folders.

Interface tab

Switching the toolbars on and off:

Main, Mathematical
Save formula - saves the expression of the one-formula window when the program finishes.

Display the suggest window on user input - switches the suggest window on or off.

Font tab

Font - string font: italic, bold, underlined, and font name.

Font size

Standard - the main operation symbol size.

First level index - first operation index size.

Second level index - second operation index size.

Example:

Here, 5 is the main symbol, 3 is the first level index, and 2 is the second level index.

Number gaps - automatic space insertions between digits for more convenient number reading.

Number gaps usage - switching the number gaps on or off.

Binary - for binary numbers.

Example:

Octonary - for octagonal numbers.

Decimal - for decimal numbers.

Example:

Hexadecimal - for hexadecimal numbers.

Colors tab

Numbers and lines - color of number expressions and strings other than variables, functions, or units.

Variables - color of string denotations of variables.

Functions - color of string denotations of functions.

Units - color of string denotations of units.

Graphical elements - color of graphical presentations of operation.

Error - color of the wavy line pointing out an error.

Solving highlight - color of the square confining the currently calculating formulas.

Text - color of text elements (non-computable).

Cursor - cursor color.

Cursor highlight - color of the cursor position during mouse movement.

Background - color of the document background.

Cursor tab

Displaying the cursor position during the mouse movement - displays the cursor sign under the mouse.

Complete formula bypass. In some operations (such as division, summarizing, and some others), having the relevant check mark removed, the cursor, while moving from the beginning of the operation to its end, moves along the shortest path.

Example:

The cursor is in the numerator position. If the check box "Complete formula bypass" is checked, pressing the [Right arrow] key moves the cursor straight to the denominator. When unchecked, the cursor moves to the position following the current operation. In this case, the cursor can be moved to the denominator position with [Up] and [Down] arrow keys or the mouse.

Clipboard tab

This tab defines correspondence of symbol strings and graphical operations. While copying the selected expressions, the clipboard admits the symbol line compliant with the "Copy" column. While inserting the symbol line, an expression compliant with the "Paste" column is created.

By this means, there is interoperability with mathematical programs operating with string-like expressions. You can obtain more details on creating copy and insertion templates from a string clipboard format description.

Computation tab

In this tab, you can define the computations order while editing expressions.

Cursor removal computation - the expression computation process starts when you move the cursor to another expression (above or below).

Start computation after delay, with delay.

Show result prompt - switches a pop-up computation result window on and off, delay from the mouse movement termination to the appearance of the pop-up tip.

Error location displaying can also be switched on or off.

Result tab

Here are shown the default result types.

Results auto search order - when this option is enabled, the program searches presented result types. The search order is defined in a specific window of the tab. It lets the user choose the result types by pressing the [Up] and [Down] arrow keys. The first column of the list contains check boxes pointing to results to be used during the result search. See more information about this option to define default parameters for each result type.

Exponential numbers - numeric accuracy, exponential threshold (count of significant digits in result number), angular measure, and its display.

Integer numbers - notation and its display.

Fraction numbers - fraction form.

Complex numbers - numeric accuracy, exponential threshold, complex number form, angular measure display, and default angular measure.

Include tab

This tab contains paths to files, expressions that are to be involved in the current document. Such include files can contain user variables, functions, and units.
